For all questions about participation or sponsorship please contact worldcup@dronesoccer.education.

Teams registration is on a first come first serve basis, apply now! Completing this application will reserve your team's participation at the ADSWC in Lakeland, Florida from April 3rd-4th, 2025. Final team rosters, season records, scholarship applications, and registration fees are due by March 21st, 2025. 


All student drone soccer teams are welcome regardless of nationality or league affiliation, participation is not mutually exclusive. Teams of 5-10 participants not including coaches and chaperones, roster must be co-educational (both men and women) and currently enrolled as students:

  • 20cm competition open to secondary students in middle or high school (ages approximately 12-18). The competition has an estimated capacity of 16 teams. 

 


Rules are based on all international standards for the sport. The rules have been updated from what many USA teams are used to. A complete downloadable PDF of the Academic World Cup Team Information Manual can be found at the bottom of this webpage. Note: A physical copy of the Academic World Cup Team Information Manual will be given to all teams participating in the 2025 World Cup.


The registration cost is $165 per student, due by March 21st, 2025. We are seeking sponsors to assist with supporting costs for student teams. 


 

Career Fair Information
Career Fair Tent – Located in the Future ‘n Flight Plaza (Across from the Main Gates)

  • Located in a dedicated air-conditioned venue near the main entrance.
  • Expanded 6-day Career Expo on Tuesday through Sunday, allowing exhibitors to pre-schedule meetings or candidate interviews.
  • The suggested attire for the Career Fair is air show appropriate (rather than business).
  • Your ticket thar is included with your registration allows you access to the Career Fair and also the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo, and enjoy the rest of your day at the greatest aviation event ever!

Aircraft are allowed from any manufacturer, including custom built. Must comply with one of the following aircraft classifications:

  • 20cm 300g according to published FAI standards
  • 40cm 1.1kg according to published FIDA standards


Micro 20cm 100g aircraft intended for young children will not be included in the competition.  


Teams should plan to arrive by Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 with optional check-in and reception that evening. Competition begins Thursday, April 3rd and will finish Friday April 4th.


Teams will have ticket access to the entire SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo from April 1-6th. Plan to extend your travel dates if you wish to fully utilize this experience.

The 2025 World Cup kicks off Wednesday evening with an optional Welcome Reception from 5-7 PM. This reception will give students the opportunity to connect with each other as well as meet some of the elite pilots from some of the demo teams that are performing throughout the SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo. Immediately following the reception is a night airshow and fireworks display on site. 


Thursday April 3rd kicks off the tournament. Teams may arrive at 1 PM for the optional Drone Clinic. The Drone Clinic is an opportunity to assemble, test, and repair their drones before competition begins. Following this, the Volunteer Training will take place as the remaining teams begin to arrive and setup. Competition begins at 3 PM. 


World Cup Finals will take place on Friday April 4th. Drone Clinic begins at 3 PM with the first Finals Match starting at 4 PM. The Awards Ceremony will take place immediately after Finals at 7 PM.

It is recommended to fly into Tampa, Florida as it is an hour from Lakeland. Orlando, FL is 1.5 hour drive from Lakeland, but a great option if you plan to check out Disney World.


Driving Directions 

I-4 East / West – Exit 25  
Proceed South on County Line Road and turn East (left) on West Pipkin Rd. and proceed to the General Auto Parking area. 

I-4 East / West – Exit 27 Polk County Parkway – Hwy 570 East (Toll – Recommended)
Exit South (right) onto Waring Rd. exit. At the traffic light at Drane Field Rd. Continue South on Waring Rd to Pipkin Rd. Turn West (right) on Pipkin Rd and then you have the option to turn North (right) on South Medulla Rd. and proceed to East Auto Parking. 

I-4 East/ West – Exit 41 Polk County Parkway – Hwy 570 West (Toll)
Take Waring Rd. exit and turn South (left) at the traffic light at Drane Field Rd. Continue South on Waring Rd. Turn West (right) on Pipkin Rd and then you have the option to turn North (right) on South Medulla Rd. and proceed to East Auto Parking. 

I-4 East – Exit 22 South (Optional route if westbound I-4 backs up)
Continue South on Park Rd. Proceed to the third traffic light, turn East (left) on Coronet Rd. Follow Coronet, turn East (left) on Medulla Rd. At the light turn South (right) on County Line Rd. and then East (left) on W. Pipkin Rd. and proceed to the General Auto Parking area (follow signage or directions by traffic control officers).

To make navigating SUN ‘n FUN easier, we’ve added clear signage to help you remember where you parked after a fun-filled day. We recommend snapping a photo and pinning your location to avoid any confusion. Parking lots open at 7 AM, and admission gates open at 8 AM. See you there!
